"Melinda helped me take care of my beloved Charles, a lab mix with degenerative myelopathy, for three years. Throughout that time she was firm, gentle, compassionate, and had a great sense of humor — a fabulous quality because Charles was a rascal and could be a handful. The treatments she gave him really helped. DM is an awful disease with no cure, but symptoms can be managed and Melinda really helped Charles live his life as fully as he was able to. I will forever thank her for her work with him, and I highly recommend her."
2 of my dogs ( a Pitbull and a rotti/lab mix) have had the pleasure of Melinda being their physical therapist on multiple occasions through the years. Not only is she phenomenal at what she does, but also professional, friendly, patient (both with animal and human), actually cares about the well-being of your pet, and just a down to earth good person!!! Whatever your pet needs I promise you will not be disappointed and neither will your pet. My 2 dogs used to get so excited when they saw her and actually seemed to enjoy the therapy.
She will do whatever it takes to make your pet whole again. She is definitely a 5 star therapist in my opinion and I would say in my dogs eyes as well!!
"Scooter and I both LOVE Melinda! He started going to Melinda for physical therapy and laser treatments after he had surgery to repair cruciate tears in both of his knees, and he’s been going ever since. During Covid, when pet parents were required to wait outside the building, she sent pictures to me of Scooter doing his obstacle course exercises, she sent home a weekly progress report along with suggested exercises to do at home, and one time, when Scooter refused to get in the car, she came to our house to work with him! As an added bonus, she’ll trim his nails when they need it, and she gives him his weekly injections – something he hates for me to do but doesn’t seem to mind when she does it! Melinda is calm, patient, and so knowledgeable. She always makes herself available for questions, offers helpful suggestions, and I believe she treats Scooter the same way she treats her own dogs.
More important than all of that, Scooter loves Melinda! As soon as we pull into the parking lot, he jumps up and starts pacing in the backseat, antsy to go see her. When she’s performing the laser therapy, he mellows right down and often falls asleep. The first time I went into the building after Covid rules relaxed, Scooter refused to do his exercises until after I left the room; I guess he was jealous that I was taking up “his” time with Melinda! But that’s okay; because of Melinda, Scooter’s physical health and mental health have improved, and I would recommend her to anyone."
"When my four year old Golden Retriever, “Axel”, tore both of his cruciate ligaments just days apart, I thought for sure that it would be the end of his ability to run and play freely. Axel had them both surgically repaired then immediately went into rehab with Melinda. Melinda was optimistic and confident in her abilities to help him heal. She created a plan, then thoughtfully and methodically worked with him to increase his confidence, mobility and strength while also making it fun for him. After many months of working together, Axel made a full recovery and went on to live an active life without any limitations. This would not have been possible without Melinda’s expertise, patience and commitment. "
"In 2019, we began working with Melinda as Seamus was aging and having difficulty moving around. He was becoming weaker and weaker, eventually unable to go for very long walks. His stability was very uneasy and was struggling.
After meeting with Melinda, she provided a handout of exercises that would benefit Seamus and help maintain muscle and muscle memory. These exercises were done at RB once or twice a week at least. We would incorporate exercises done with Melinda also at home in between sessions. At the end of each session laser therapy was given on his back hips and back which helped immensely. If it were possible to have that done each day he would have been on cloud nine.
I definitely saw a big difference for quite some time. At first, he was not a huge fan but eventually came around and it almost seemed like he was trying to impress Melinda with what he could do. He also became fast friends with Melinda and wanted to make her happy. The treats were also a big motivation ha.
Late 2020, Seamus could no longer do many of the exercises to a point that it no longer made sense and that is when Melinda recommended that it might be time for a cart, so that he could at least get around and get his sniffs in etc. I purchased one for him at Christmas time and it was a game changer. I no longer needed to carry him essentially in his "help me up," harness and we both felt free.
I am convinced that if we didn't go to see Melinda when we did he would not have lived as long. I would say at least two years were added to his life which were two years more that I got to spend with him. I will not hesitate when my current dog Scooby who is 5 years old needs help on that front she will be the first person I reach out to. It's hard to come across someone who genuinely cares about your four legged as if it were their own and wants them living their best life. Thank you Melinda for all your hard work and patience. "
